what is a good 3d graphics program?
i want to make 3d diagrams of houses, boats and castles. any good programs?
kinda like how they would do it on Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter or something (but cheaper!)
Blender is a great free open source 3d animation package. However, you will have to spend time to learn it well – it is complex. Yes, you can create models like the ones in Lord of the Rings / Harry Potter – but do remember that in order to achieve a similar quality, you will probably have to AT LEAST study/practice several months up to a year.

Blender can compete with more expensive software, such as 3dsMax ($3000), and you will learn all the important concepts of 3d animation. Switching to a “professional” app is relatively easy after that, if need be.

PS I am not saying you need a ‘high school level’ text – I am saying it is a great tutorial book to teach yourself Blender, no matter what age your are.
