You can get some really great plans for all kind and sizes of boats at the link below.
You can get plans for a small (adult size) boat starting at around $50.00.
No, these are not “free” plans… And if this is your very first boat to build, I highly discourage the use of “free” plans.
I have been Building Boats for over 40 years, and I have built about a dozen of the boats from plans at the link below. These people are great boat designers, but more importantly they are great people. They will support you, be there on the phone or email to answer your questions every step of the way – and all the way to the completion of your Boat Building project.
With “free” plans, you will NOT get any after sale support. In addition (as with most everything that is free) what you get will not even be worth what you pay for postage & handling. The people out there selling “free” plans are making their money off the fee they charge you for postage and handling, and therefore, they could care less if you complete your boat, and even whether or not it even floats after you do.
In addition, the site below offers a “boat load” of great information on boat building. Even if you buy nothing, if you thoroughly browse their site, you will learn a displacement ton of stuff about building boats. It is easier then you think, more fun then a lifeboat full of pirates, and with a bit of patience, fortitude, determination – and a good set of plans & instructions – you can Build A Boat you will be extremely proud of.
